Private tutor in Natick, MA
University of Pennsylvania - Bachelors, Psychology
I am a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania, from which I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology. My plan is to continue my education and one day obtain a Clinical Psychology graduate degree. During my college years, I was able to volunteer for the West Philadelphia Tutoring Project. The goal of this organization is to bring Penn students into Philadelphia's inner city so that they can offer tutoring to low-income students. This experience was not only deeply rewarding, but it allowed me to nurture my interest in working with students professionally. I offer tutoring in a variety of subjects such as history, writing, English, SAT Reading/Writing, and French. I particularly enjoy tutoring history, as I think that it is full of lessons that the student can apply to their personal, social, and national lives. I believe learning is not a stationary process, where a student simply studies, passes a test, and then allows that information to pass away. I believe that students should possess a desire to learn, own it, and then use their new found knowledge to achieve an even higher level of learning and success. This way a student will always try to grow and to improve. I see it as my duty to promote that desire and help students progress at their own pace, so that they can reach their potential. I can not wait to help my students excel! I love to spend time playing tennis, writing, and reading fantasy novels/science fiction.
